KUHS News Letter Chaitra, 2078

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The end of the year is almost upon us. It has been such a mixed experience for all of us – on-line classes, in-person classes, then on-line for another month before finishing up in person. I know your children are disappointed by all the activities they have missed. The final exams that are underway now are the first in person final exams that students have had in more than a year and for the younger students this is a totally new experience. The exam results will give us only a partial picture of the potential of our students, your children, as so much of the year was disrupted. I hope you will take the opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher on Results Day and plan for how to support your child in the coming year so students can make a major leap forward.

We are hopeful that the New Year will bring a full year of in-person instruction and lots of exciting activities for the students. At the same time, I want to let you know I will not be returning to KUHS as Academic Director. I have been associated with the School for three and a half years now and it has been a fulfilling experience. I have enjoyed working with coordinators and teachers to improve the quality of our academic program. The enthusiasm of your children for learning has been a real joy. I have tremendous respect for all the staff and will miss spending my days at school. But it is also time to move on and attend to responsibilities that have been neglected during my time here. I will certainly be back in Nepal later this year, though, and look forward to continuing an informal connection with the School.

The break between sessions is brief this year. Please try to use this time as an opportunity to explore a new place, read new books, and see old and new friends. These are key to having a successful school experience.

Thank you Note

We have come to an end of the academic session 2078. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents, students, teaching and non-teaching staff and well wishers for their wonderful cooperation and support as a team to make virtual classes very productive. We expect similar kind of cooperation in the days ahead to overcome all the hurdles. The moments we have spent with you and your children this year has really been very unforgettable one. The parents as usual supported us wholeheartedly and encouraged us to move further even during the crucial situation of pandemic. Thank you so much for this support and valuable suggestions. We look forward to working together in year ahead.

Result Day

The final results of the academic year 2078 will be on Tuesday, Chaitra 29, 2078 between 10 am to 1 pm. Parents are kindly requested to come and communicate with the teachers about your child’s performance.  However Class 8 and 10 board exam has a different schedule which has been given in a separate newsletter. Hostellers’ except class 8 and 10 are requested to take all their belongings on the result day as we need to do a lot of repair and maintenance during the break. All the dues through Chaitra 2078 must be cleared in order to receive your child’s results. Children are also requested to return all library books.

Vaccination

Nepal Government, Department of Health, is making available a vaccination against Typhoid for children ages 15 months to 15 years. The local health post will be providing the vaccination on 29^th Chaitra 2078 between 10 am to 3 pm here at school. We have also consulted the vaccine specialists at Dhulikhel Hospital and they have given a positive response. So parents are kindly requested to bring children for the vaccination. You may bring other siblings too even those who are not the KUHS students.

Withdrawal

We wish that no students will leave the school. However, if you are going to withdraw your child, please inform us by Chaitra 30, 2078. We always acknowledge your positive feedback and suggestions. If you have any quarries, please let us know either by email or a phone call. You can even talk directly with the Principal or Coordinators.

Registration

We are pleased to inform you that the school does not charge any annual fees once the student is admitted. However we kindly request you to deposit the monthly fee for Baishak as the confirmation that your child continuing the school. At the moment, there is no change in the fee structure for the academic year 2079. However, we all are aware of the high rate of inflation in our country.  If the situation does not improve, then we will be compelled to review the existing fee structure during the course of the school year.

New Academic Session

The new academic session begins on Tuesday, Baishak 13, 2079. We still need to practice the basic health protocols for your child.  We expect all the students to arrive at school with a complete sets of their belongings. However, new textbooks and exercise books will be provided by the School on the day of arrival. All the hostellers have to arrive at their respective hostel on 12^th Baishak between 3 pm to 5 pm. There will be no bus services available for hosteller on 13^th Baishak.

School and Hostel Uniforms

All the hostel students must come with a complete set of uniforms. We would also like to request that you to stitch the registration number in uniforms permanently. If students fail to come with a complete set of uniforms, they will not allowed to stay in hostel. Please do not send winter clothes right now. The uniforms are available at Kewal’s Uniform, Newroad (01-4259121) and Pulchowk, Lalitpur [01-5009225] and Heritex Fabrics, Banepa (9851144969/9846307759)

Art Exhibition

We are delight to inform you that Mrs. Rukumani Sherstha (Art Teacher KUHS) is going to organize a solo art exhibition at Classic Gallery Chakupat, Khatal Marga Lalitpur (9841646503) from Chaitra 27^th 2078 Sunday onward. We request you to visit the exhibition.
