Message from the Academic Director

Dear KUHS Parents,

I know this has been a challenging six months for all of you and for everyone in the KUHS Community, parents, students, teaching and non teaching staff alike. My special thanks to you as parents for all your efforts in supporting your children during their online learning experiences. You have played an essential role in helping your children connect remotely and stay focused during zoom sessions; you have created a good study environment at home while assuring that your children turn in their assignments. Your constant presence has been essential to the success of our students – so many have been attending regularly and actively taking part in their classes.

Providing online learning is definitely a team effort and you have been an essential part of that team. The other essential part is the KUHS teachers with the support of the administration. They have worked tirelessly to find new and interesting ways to engage students and now most recently to offer the mid-term exams online.  They want every student to be present and active and I know you have heard from many of them. This has been a time of learning and innovation, a time when we have all grown.

So, in this season of celebration, I want to thank the whole KUHS community – students, parents, teachers, administrators and non-teaching staff, for all they have done to make these last six months a positive and successful experience.

Congratulations to All and a Happy Vijaya Dashami!

Academic Director

We have been evaluating children’s academic performance on regular basis using different strategies. For Primary (grade 1 to 6) there are 4 continuous assessments; each carries 15 % marks, two term exams (half yearly and final term exams) carry 20 % each. For secondary (Grade 7 to 10), there are 4 continuous assessment grades,  each of 10%  marks; 2 cycle tests each of which caries 10 % marks, half yearly and final exams carry 20% marks each. Each student must be present for 80% of the class time and must secure minimum 40 % or D+ in each subject for promotion. If any individual fails to achieve the given benchmark then he/she needs to appear in a face to face exam as per a scheduled prepared by the school in future.

So far we have already finished the evaluation process for the first continuous assessment.  The first cycle test and grade sheet has already been dispatched. We have just finished the half yearly examinations. The results of the second continuous assessment and half yearly examinations will be published immediately after Dashain vacation.

Academic Programme

We have been well-prepared with all the necessary protocols for reopening of school for face to face classes any time. Everything has been kept on standby position. However it is very unlikely to have normal face to face classes in this academic session soon.  We are in close contact with the school management committee chairperson, Dr. Rajendra Koju, on this issue. He has been giving us useful advice regularly.  Any further action in this regard depends upon the overall health situation of the country, direction as provided by Panauti Municiplity, the decision of the Management Committee and, of course, parents’opinion, feedback and advice.

We are very much aware of the present financial situation of the country. We all have been enduring a significant recession. However it is compulsory for us to provide salary to the staff for the continuity of virtual classes. Your support and cooperation has helped us to move in the forward direction. So as per the Management Committee decision we have requested that you deposit the school fees at the rate of Rs. 6000/- per month for Grade 1 to 10.We have already requested you to deposit upthrough the month of Ashwin. Most of you have already deposited the requested amount. We express our deep sense of appreciation for the cooperation.
