Kathmandu University High SchoolCultivating socially responsible & sensible citizens

Dear KUHS Parents,
It is hard to believe that “School” has been open for almost two months now but in a way and form that is totally new to all of us. The lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19 has challenged all of us to live and to learn in new ways. Teachers quickly figured out how to deliver lessons on Zoom and then provide resources and additional communication through Google Classroom. Students have learned new ways to behave in a virtual classroom and have been wonderfully creative in some of their assignments. And you, as parents, have learned to support your child in this new on-line learning environment. On behalf of all the teachers, we thank you for guiding your children, offering suggestions, and supporting our efforts. Creating a positive learning environment under these difficult conditions is definitely a community effort, and everyone has risen to the occasion and made it work. My congratulations to all for their effort, ingenuity, and willingness to step out of your comfort zone and learn new ways of doing things.
At KUHS we have been preparing for the day when school can reopen by cleaning and painting. We also have completed the repair and maintenance work. Both playfields are ready to welcome children. Many of the non-teaching staff have been hard at work. Although at this point, we don’t know when the Government will decide schools can reopen, we want to be prepared both physically and with procedures that can allow us to protect the health of your children. We have been preparing protocols for the health safety of the children.
Again, our huge thank you to all who have worked so hard to make this period of online/distance learning so remarkably successful.
