Hostel Facility at KUHS: A Home Away from Home

Kathmandu University High School (KUHS) offers a weekly hostel that’s not just safe but feels welcoming and supportive for students. Tucked inside KUHS’s peaceful and lively campus, the hostel is set up so students can really grow - not just in their studies, but also socially, emotionally, and physically. Here’s how it works: students stay at the hostel for four nights a week, then spend three nights at home. They arrive on Monday and head back to their families on Friday. The school arranges bus pick-ups and drop-offs across Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur, making things easier for everyone.

Comfort and Care: The hostel has separate living spaces for boys and girls. Dorms are clean, airy, and roomy. Bathrooms are hygienic and well-kept, and there’s always water and electricity. Hostel In charges are available at any time keeping a close eye on things so students feel safe and cared for. There’s a strong sense of discipline here, but also real warmth and attention to each student’s needs.

A Day with Structure and Support: Each day is thoughtfully planned out. Students follow a routine that helps build self-discipline and good habits. Mornings and evenings include supervised study sessions. Teachers and wardens keep track of everyone’s progress and step in to help when needed. There’s quiet time for focused study, plus access to the school library and other resources.

Healthy Food, Healthy Living: Meals are balanced and nutritious, made in a clean kitchen with growing teens in mind. The school puts effort into planning the menu and keeping the dining area spotless. It’s all about supporting both health and energy.

More Than Just Books: Life at the KUHS hostel isn’t only about academics. Students get involved in sports activities, and a variety of cultural and creative programs. There are chances to build character, practice values, and develop leadership and teamwork skills. Living together, students learn respect, independence, and responsibility and form friendships that stick.

Safety and Staying Connected: Safety comes first. The hostel has strict rules for coming and going, plus regular health check-ups and quick access to medical help. Every student is insuranced in Dhulikhel Hospital. Parents stay in the loop, with regular updates about their child’s progress and well-being, so there’s always a strong link between home and school.

A Place to Belong: The KUHS hostel is much more than a place to sleep. It’s a lively community where students become confident, responsible, and aware of the world around them. With caring supervision, academic support, and a real sense of belonging, KUHS gives students a true “home away from home.”
