The school has revised the Dashain holidays since a number of parents have requested for the closure of the school as many families need to travel outside the Kathmandu Valley during this period. The school will resume from Tuesday, 27 October, 2026.
The instructional days affected by this adjustment will be compensated by revising the subsequent school calendar. Accordingly, the proposed additional working days are Sunday, 22 November 2026, Sunday, 6 December 2026, Sunday, 17 January 2027 and Sunday, 31 January 2027.
Appointment of the Vice Principal
We would like to inform you that Mr. Parshuram Adhikari has been appointed as the Vice Principal of the school. He has been working at school for the last two and half decades and has an experience of working as the Head of the Exams, SMC Member. He teaches Nepali language for Class 11 and 12.
Fee Payment
We would like to request all the parents and guardians to clear all the fees and dues until Kartik, 2083 since the school has to make a lot of payments before the festivals and the students fees are the only source of the smooth operation of the school. JS Hamro Code Workshop
On August 5, there was a Joint school event called Hamro Code, organized by Vedu Robotics, at St. Xavier’s Godawari. The environment was filled with courage, dedication, and love for coding and robotics.
It was a long journey travelling from Chaukot to Godawari. When we reached the school, my first impression was the greenery and the peaceful environment of the school; it was beautiful. After coming to the school, we went to the Faber hall and registered our school and our respective names.
Coming up, we were jumbled up with other schools in order to form a team. At first, the event coordinator explained and taught us about the advantages and good uses of AI in coding. After that, we had a tea break where I discussed the idea of the project with my teammates. After that, we cast our votes, and our topic was “Smart Home (Automated Lights).”
The coordinator handed the electronic parts and explained to us how to assemble them. Thinking quickly, we downloaded the image and identified the components according to the table given in the image. After that, the coordinator inserted the code in the microchip, and we scanned the QR code to access the website to control the lights from the mobile phone.
Due to the number of people not completing the project, extra time was added which gave us time to prepare for the presentation and to decorate our projects.
After the time was over, the principal came and gave us some words of wisdom. Additionally, he appreciated us for our dedication and hard work. At the end, tokens of love were given to the coordinator and certificates were handed over to different schools. That is how the event ended.

KUHS Solo Singing Competition
On 19 August 2026, our school organized KUHS Solo Singing Competition for Junior students of grade 1 to 6. The singing competition was an event; almost everyone was excited about, including me. There were so many contestants even larger audiences. I personally was nervous about the surprise judge. But at the end it was fine. Singing on the stage was not my biggest moment but others did very well. Overall, the singing competition is something I look forward to every year in KUHS.

Music is the art of thinking with sound. A few weeks ago, on 26 August was our singing competition. It was for the senior category, from grade 7-10. It was the grand finale where weeks of practice all the participants was about to be shown. As the names of the participants were called, sweet rhythms and lyrics filled the halls. Singers displayed their own song and their own unique voices.
Everybody looked nervous but thanks to the cheers and applause of the audience, we became a bit more confident. There may have been only a single stage but there were many voices each having their own melody and each singing a unique tune. When the music started, the hall would go quiet and the audience would be eager to listen to each singer. Some would sing along and some would vibe to the rhythm. Everybody seemed to enjoy the performance with some even giving us goosebumps and leaving us all in awe.
The ones, who went on stage, a bit nervous, came back with such wonderful performances. To us this was not just a competition on who could sing better, it was a place to display our talents and learn the language of music. At the end of our competition, our beloved judge even sang us a song and we all enjoyed his wonderful performances as well, by singing along and enjoying it. With this, our competition had finally ended but we are waiting for the result of the competition.

Our Reflections on Dance Competition
Dance competition is one of the many competitions that takes place in our school and it is my favorite one. Dance is the movement of the body in a rhythmic way, usually to music for expressing an idea or emotion, releasing energy, or simply taking joy in the dance step itself. It is usually performed with music, makeup, acting, and by movements of different body parts.
In our school, every student who participated in the dance completion dressed according to their song. Most of the students performed much better than I expected. Personally, I do not consider it as a competition, instead, I consider it as an opportunity to show my talent and make myself for the future. At last, I would like to thank my school and dance teacher for giving me this precious opportunity that I will remember throughout my school life.

Dance is not moving to the music, it is moving the hearts of those who watch. It is a combination of passion, rhythm and talent. Dance competition, an event to recognize student’s talents and encourage them.
The competition was held on 29 September 2026 in the dance hall. This program was held only for senior level students from grade 7 to 12 as the dance competition for junior level students had already been held before. The judges for this competition were both very talented dancers. They came all the way from Bhaktapur and Thimi. The competition started from early morning. Before lunch, the student from grade 11 to 12 had their competition. They all performed with ambition and full energy. The judges had marked their performance because of many categories like footwork, facial expression, confidence, costume and so on.
After lunch grade 9 students performed. All the performers performed their best in while dancing. After all the performances of grade 9 were over, the competition for grade, 10 and 8 began. All the performers danced their heart out and showed their talent. At last, all the students from grade 7 finally have to perform just before snacks break.
Overall, this event has acted as a motivation for all the talented dancers of our school. It has encouraged students to show their passion and talent. It felt nice seeing students turn music into movement. Every contestant that participated in this competition had added light to the competition and more programs like this should be held.

Memories of Joint School Sports Meet
Volleyball Tournament
I reached St. Xavier’s Jawalakhel at 7:30 a.m., met my team and friends, and attended the briefing about the rules and schedule of the games. After changing into our Joint School Jersey, we warmed up for our first volleyball match against NDBS Team A, which we won in two sets. We then defeated NDBS Team B in two consecutive sets, winning our pool and advancing to the semi-finals, where we defeated St. Xavier’s Godawari in two sets to secure a place in the final. After lunch and supporting our friends in their football match, we played the final against NDBS Team and won the first set comfortably. Although we fell behind in the second set, we regained our confidence after a timeout, closed the gap, and won the match, securing the victory in the Joint School Volleyball Tournament. The Joint School Sports Meet concluded with a departing assembly and certificate distribution at 1:30 p.m. I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in the event and proud to have won the tournament with my team, making it a memorable experience as my first and last tournament as a KUHS student.

Football Tournament: Senior Boys
We reached St. Xavier’s at 8:00 sharp. Many students from Joint schools were there. The morning assembly was held and everyone was sent to the dressing room. After getting dressed, we went to the football ground. We did our warm-up and everyone was a bit nervous. Our first match was against Don Bosco School. We all were nervous but we had a mindset of winning. In addition, after some minutes, we scored a goal and the match ended 2-0. Our second match was against St. Xavier’s B team. We conceded 1 goal but scored 5 and we went to the semi-finals. However, after some time we scored so it was a draw and went to penalties. We were very scared but we won so we went to finals. When finals started, we were nervous. It was against Don Bosco which we beat 2-0 in the first match. However, everyone was so tired we could not attack. On top of that, our keeper was injured. Therefore, our second goalkeeper came on. The game ended 0-0 and went to penalties. We missed 1 penalty and everyone thought we were going to lose but our second keeper saved the penalty giving us hope. Our player scored the penalty but the other team players missed and we went on win the finals securing first place.

Football Tournament: Senior Girls
Getting to participate in such a lively and competitive event was a great honor and a wonderful opportunity to get to know different people and display our skills in our particular sport. This year’s Joint School Sports Event was extremely energetic and unforgettable and we were all looking forward to this day for weeks. We had sacrifice our regular classes in order to practice for this event and it is safe to say that the practice and hard work we put in was absolutely worth it. When we first got there, we were all very excited and nervous at the same time but as we played our first match, we could not have felt more confident. The matches were full of action and physically demanding but the thrill of getting to play the match we were all anticipating for was a very exhilarating feeling. As we played the games, we were also mindful of the fact that we were representing our school in this event and maintained discipline and order and showcased sportsmanship in all the matches. In conclusion, this year’s Joint School event was extremely memorable and I am very grateful for the opportunity given by the school to be able to take part in such a program.

Our Basketball Journey
The Joint School Sports Meet held on September 19, 2026 was an exciting opportunity for the basketball team to step onto the court, compete against other schools, and experience the true spirit of sportsmanship. Although we did not get the results we hoped for, with losses in both of our matches, the experience has motivated us to learn from and be proud of. Our matches showed us that we still have different areas to improve. At times, we struggled with communication on the court, maintaining possession, making accurate passes, and staying organized in defense. We also found it challenging to remain consistent throughout the entire game. These weaknesses affected our performance, but they also gave us a clear idea of what we need to work on in our future practices.
Most importantly, the tournament reminded us that winning is not the only measure of success. Sometimes success means having the courage to compete, learning from our mistakes, and coming back stronger. The experience has motivated us to train harder, communicate better, and build greater confidence as a team. We may not have brought home victories this time, but we brought back something worth remembering: experience, determination, and a stronger desire to improve. With more practice and teamwork, we look forward to returning to the court with greater confidence and better coordination.
