Theme: The Transformation Roadmap: Scaling Quality, Community-Orientation and Innovation in Schools


A Joint Initiative by:
Kathmandu University High School (KUHS) & Department of Inclusive Education, ECD and Professional Studies (DIEP), KU School of Education (KUSOED).

1. Rationale and Objectives


The landscape of 21st-century education demands a shift from traditional transactional models to innovative, inclusive, community-driven and scalable practices. This conference serves as a strategic bridge between research excellence (KUSOED) and praxis excellence (KUHS).

 

Key Objectives:

Knowledge Synthesis

To re-envision learning through expert keynotes on the "Transformative Potential of School Education" and "LAB School" concepts.

Best Practice Documentation

To provide a platform for schools to showcase proven methods that enhance student outcomes.

Innovation Pitching

To identify and catalyze scalable ideas that address quality gaps in the national school system.

Skills Development

To engage educators in specialized workshops covering inclusion, well-being, and contemporary pedagogy.

 

2. Participation Process

 

We invite educators, school leaders, and researchers to join us in three distinct capacities:

  • Registration Fee: 1,000 per participant (applicable to all categories).
  • Participation Tracks:
    1. Audience Member: Engage in workshops and discussions to bring insights back to you and your institution.
    2. Best Practice Presenter: A 5-minute presentation showcasing a successful initiative from your school (followed by a panel discussion).
    3. Innovation Pitcher: A 5-minute "pitch" focused on a transformative idea for scaling quality across grades (Pre-3, 4-8, or 9-12)

5-minute school presentations followed by a Panel Discussion.

Session: Pitching Ideas

Scaling Quality & Innovation pitches (Levels: Pre-3, 4-8, 9-12) + Panel Discussion.

2. Managing Inclusive Education

3. Student-Teacher Wellbeing

4. Dynamics of ECA and CCA

4. Workshop Themes (Deep Dive)

Participants will select one specialized track for the 1.5-hour afternoon session:

  • STEAM & Place-based Pedagogy: Connecting science/math/Arts to local environments.
  • Inclusive Education: Practical strategies for managing diverse classrooms.
  • Wellbeing: Prioritizing the mental and emotional health of both staff and students.
  • ECA/CCA Dynamics: Integrating extracurricular activities into the core curriculum.
  • Exam Free Evaluation: Moving away from high-stakes testing toward holistic evaluation.
